I’m Dr. Danisha Keating

Hello new friends!

First and foremost, I will not be bullied into silence for creating a space for people to be honest and have a friend, wherever they fall religiously or politically.

My name is Dr. Danisha Keating.

I’m a bootstrap girl. I’ve made my way from poverty, real white trash poverty to now a business owner and PhD holding, homeowner, badass mom and wife.

I’m a former foster youth and sis-ma (sister who raised 5 siblings).

I’m an advocate for the foster care community and public speaker.

I unapologetically love people and believe we all have a purpose and calling in our lives- regardless of where they stand.

I will be your biggest cheerleader.

I’m an author.

But above all, I’m a child of Jesus Christ.

I firmly believe everyone is made in God’s imagine and I will love people fiercely.

I’m here to encourage others that they can make something of themselves. We won’t agree on everything and that’s all of our rights.

But you will not bully me into giving you information about me, my story, or my opinion.

You will not shame me into silence and I won’t shame you into silence. I want to learn from you, just as much as I’d like to share my knowledge.

I’m here to support and build a community.

Im here to remind people they are not alone.

I’m here to inspire the underdog so that they know they are not alone.

... Read moreHey everyone! It's truly humbling to share a bit more about the journey that brought me here. When I talk about being a 'bootstrap girl,' it's not just a phrase; it's a testament to countless late nights, sacrifices, and a refusal to let circumstances define my future. Growing up a former foster youth and experiencing homelessness wasn't easy. There were times when just putting food on the table felt like an impossible task, let alone dreaming of a college education. And then, becoming a 'sis-ma' at a young age, raising five of my siblings in a tiny apartment, added another layer of responsibility and love to my life. Every single one of those experiences, no matter how tough, forged the resilience within me. Many ask how I transitioned from those challenging beginnings to holding multiple degrees and earning a PhD. Honestly, it was a step-by-step process fueled by an unwavering belief in education as a pathway to freedom and impact. I learned to navigate academic hurdles while balancing family life, often studying after everyone else was asleep. It was hard, but each degree felt like a monumental victory, not just for me, but for every foster youth who’s been told they can't make it. Now, as a public speaker and motivational speaker, I pour my heart into sharing these lessons. My goal is to empower others, especially those from the foster care community, to see their potential. I speak on topics ranging from overcoming adversity to finding your purpose, and it's incredibly rewarding to coach aspiring authors and doctoral students, helping them unlock their own voices and achieve their academic dreams. It's about paying it forward, reminding everyone that their story has value and their goals are within reach. Being an author of three books has also been a profound experience, allowing me to share deeper insights and practical strategies for resilience and personal growth. Each book is a piece of my heart, designed to inspire and equip readers with tools to navigate their own challenges. My business partnership with my husband is another exciting chapter, allowing us to build something together that reflects our shared values of community and support. Ultimately, my journey has taught me that purpose isn't found in avoiding storms, but in learning to dance in the rain and helping others find their rhythm too. It's about building a community where honesty, empathy, and mutual encouragement thrive, regardless of our differing paths. I truly believe we all have a unique calling, and seeing others step into theirs is the greatest reward.
