How to stop wasting time the entire day?

I stay up late till 4am procrastinating doing nothing then wake up late, around 1pm then again procrastinate on my studying even though I have a big exam. I have tons of deadlines for assignments I skipped before and it gets way too stressful. I tend to avoid the situation. I keep procrastinating until before I know it, its already night time and I havent done anything all day. Does someone have any advice?

... Read moreProcrastination is a common challenge that affects many individuals, particularly students facing deadlines and exams. Understanding the psychology behind procrastination can help in combating it effectively. One key method is to set clear, achievable goals. Breaking down larger tasks into smaller, manageable steps can make them feel less overwhelming. By focusing on one task at a time and celebrating small victories, you can build momentum. Another important strategy is to create a structured routine. Establishing a specific timetable for studying, breaks, and leisure activities helps to cultivate discipline. Incorporating techniques like the Pomodoro Technique, where you work for 25 minutes followed by a 5-minute break, can enhance focus and productivity. Additionally, minimizing distractions in your environment is crucial. Designate a study space that is free from interruptions, and consider using apps that block distracting websites during study time. Surround yourself with motivational quotes or reminders to stay focused on your goals. Lastly, remember to practice self-compassion. Everyone struggles with procrastination at times, and being hard on yourself can create a negative cycle. Recognize your triggers and adjust your strategies accordingly, allowing room for growth and improvement.

I recommend using screen time limits and the Pomodoro technique. On the other hand, there is really no magic bullet to overcoming procrastination.

I would say do increments, as someone with ADHD I learned when I try to study without breaks I get overwhelmed and tend to want to procrastinate. I would say do an hour and then take a 30-45 minute break and keep that up until you finish everything you need to do
