Make sure you get an email when you cancel it

When you choose “end membership” on Prime it now immediately tells you the number of days you have left, making it seem like that’s the number of days before your membership ends, but it’s actually the number of days until renewal, and you have to scroll down to the bottom and hit another button to continue canceling membership. It’s transparently shady and I guarantee they have gotten another month out of people by doing this so I wanted to warn others.

So today I just cancelled prime today and they got me - now it's really cancelled and I'm getting my $8.99 refund.

This type of cancellation form should be illegal. Please share your stories and let people know..

... Read moreCancelling an Amazon Prime membership may seem straightforward, but the process can be misleading. Many users report confusion about the timeline for cancellation, particularly about the distinction between the remaining days and the renewal date. It’s critical to understand that when you select 'end membership', the prompt may inaccurately suggest how many days are left until your membership ends. Instead, these days often count down to your next billing date. This misrepresentation might result in additional charges, catching some users off guard as they may assume their service has ended when it has not. To navigate this effectively, users should look for confirmation emails that clarify the cancellation process. Such transparency is crucial in managing expectations and avoiding billing surprises. In addition to being informed, it's vital to share your experiences with others. Encouraging discussions around ambiguous cancellation processes can serve to protect future subscribers from unexpected charges and potential obstacles. By sharing personal stories, whether it’s about receiving a refund or catching an overlooked renewal, you're contributing to a more informed community. Together, we can call for clearer practices from companies like Amazon to ensure a fairer experience for all users.

this kinda stuff is exactly why california is putting it into law that you need ONE CLICK cancelations. i shouldn’t have to go and call the company and threaten a lawsuit to get something canceled
