The Girlfriend Zone by Lauren Blakely is officially one of my favorite books in the Love and Hockey Series! I am absolutely obsessed with Leighton and Miles. These two had me laughing, crying, and swooning nonstop. Their chemistry is undeniable from the moment they meet, and their banter is so effortless and fun to read. Miles is the swoon-worthy, thoughtfulness-filled hero of my dreams. Seriously, how he cares for Leighton, supports her independence, and still manages to be utterly devoted to her had me melting every page. And Leighton? She’s so strong and independent, yet you can feel how much she wants to be cared for by Miles—those moments were heart-melting. I loved the forbidden aspect, with Miles on her dad’s team and their secret connection. Watching them fight their attraction while keeping it professional was intense and kept me on edge. But their love felt real beyond the steam and tension, and you could see how they grew into something much deeper than just a forbidden fling. Oh, and the photography element? I was ALL about it. I loved how Leighton’s passion for photography added such a unique, personal layer to her character. And the camera scenes were sizzling hot, pure romance perfection.
Now, can we talk about the audio? Phenomenal. Samantha Brentmoor and Jason Clarke nailed their performances. They brought Leighton and Miles to life in a way that made this book absolutely impossible to put down. Their voices were perfect for these characters and enhanced their connection. This book has everything—spice, heart, amazing chemistry, and a perfectly built romance. It’s a must-read!
