I'm leaning towards a Dexterity-based Fighter, which means you get fantastic AC, great initiative, and can wield finesse weapons like a rapier or even dual-wield. This approach makes for a highly mobile and effective D&D Dex Fighter build, letting you weave through combat with grace. For the Fighter side, I'm absolutely going with the Battle Master subclass. Those maneuvers? Chef's kiss! They add so much tactical depth to combat, making you feel incredibly impactful beyond just hitting things. As for feats, something like War Caster is great for maintaining concentration on your crucial spells, or even Sentinel if you want to be a real front-line menace. Mobile could also be fun for darting in and out of combat. Even if you're interested in something like a bard build in games like Dark and Darker, the core principle of a versatile character who can both fight and support is universally appealing.
