Testimonial for Sexy Intersections workshop
“This workshop was truly eye-opening.
In many aspects of life, we have been living in a comfort zone, often unaware that there are others still facing sexual oppression and subjected to sex negativity.
The group discussions helped us recognise the privileges and advantages we hold in the realms of intimacy and sexuality.
The two questionnaires, “Identities Map” and “Sex Positive Privileges,” were the highlights, inspiring us to become agents of change, spreading kindness and compassion to as many less-privileged individuals as possible.” – Krish Phua, 50s
Sexy Intersections virtual class helps us all think about the many power dynamics that affect us when we interact in sex positive community. This is a core class in SPW for all of us wanting to learn more about how we show up/speak up/receive feedback from others when we share space together. It’s a good space for beginners who are eager to learn as well as for experienced community members who want more tools and techniques to navigate sexy spaces well.
We’ll think about our many identities and how they shape our expertise, and the areas where we need to learn and grow. We’ll spend time talking about the inevitable mistakes we make and the ways we hurt each other. Then we’ll walk through ways to better handle those hard times when we’ve done things that don’t align with who we think we are.
We’ll center race and gender in the exercises we work on together while learning more about how all aspects of oppression and privilege effect our sex positive interactions in community. We’ll encourage folks from all walks of life to work on perspective-taking from our privileges as well as our oppressions.
After attending the virtual workshops Awesome Boundaries and Sexy Intersections, we are inviting individuals to join our new Sex Positive Singapore social club.

Having participated in the Sexy Intersections workshop, I found the exercises particularly meaningful—especially the "Identities Map" and "Sex Positive Privileges" questionnaires. They helped me personally reflect on my own privileges and the ways these affect interpersonal dynamics in sex-positive spaces. These insights are essential for anyone who wants to contribute to a kinder, more inclusive community. The workshop also created a safe atmosphere for discussing tough topics like race, gender, and oppression, which we often overlook in everyday conversations about intimacy. I appreciated the supportive environment where we could learn from mistakes without judgment, fostering personal growth and better communication. If you’re interested in learning practical tools to navigate complex social and sexual interactions confidently, I highly recommend joining the upcoming sessions. The virtual format made it accessible for busy schedules, and the community that formed was genuinely welcoming. For those keen on deepening their understanding of sex positivity and allyship, attending workshops like Sexy Intersections is a vital step. It not only broadens awareness but empowers you to actively create respectful and supportive connections.
