I attended Shanice Nicole Stanislaus's Level 2 Clown Class on Sat 18 June! Like in level 1, she was super encouraging and great in supporting us to find and express our inner clown. I learned some new things like how to really commit to a character, fixed point, importance of eye contact with an audience and saving a show.
It was a pity I wasn't at my top form as I was having my period and litereally bleeding through my pants. Shanice's class are safe, fun, and I'm so glad we have her in Singapore! :) Follow her work at https://creativesinspirit.com/

Attending a clown class like Shanice Nicole Stanislaus’s Level 2 session offers more than just basic performance skills—it fosters deep self-expression and authenticity. One essential technique emphasized is the idea of 'commitment to a character,' which encourages clowns to fully embrace their personas with confidence, creating moments that resonate with the audience. Practicing a 'fixed point' helps performers maintain focus and spatial awareness during their routines, enhancing stage presence. Eye contact plays a vital role in building rapport with the audience, allowing clowns to connect emotionally and respond spontaneously to real-time reactions. This connection is crucial as it transforms a standard show into a memorable shared experience. Learning how to 'save a show' equips performers with the agility to handle unexpected situations smoothly, boosting their performance resilience. Moreover, Shanice’s classes are designed as safe spaces where students can explore their creativity freely while receiving supportive feedback. This nurturing environment helps performers grow, regardless of external circumstances—as highlighted by the personal challenges mentioned during the class. For those interested in clowning or performance arts in Singapore, following Shanice’s work at creativesinspirit.com is a great way to stay updated with workshops and resources. Embracing the art of clowning not only builds entertainment skills but also encourages personal growth, confidence, and connection—making it a rewarding pursuit for beginners and enthusiasts alike.
