Hydration tips!

One thing I’ve always been bad about has been keeping up with drinking water throughout my day. For the new year one of the things that I feel I needed to better was my wellness and I’m starting with water.

Some tips that I’ve found have helped me thus far:

1. Get a designated water bottle/ cup!

- I always struggle with my husband or daughter wanting to drink out of my cup and then I’m not able to track my intake. So I got this bottle at TJMaxx and I’ve been able to refill twice a day and not have to worry that my husband or daughter will touch it since it’s always near by. No more wondering where I put my water down.

2. Be consistent:

- I fill my water bottle once in the morning and once in the after noon. I try to time when I’m going to drink water, so I always take some sips every hour.

3. Water doesn’t have to be flat:

- I always struggled with wanting a fizzy drink so I’ve also switched over to sparkling water. I truly like brands like Lacorix, Bubly, and Aha. And if I ever want to have a bit of sweetness I muddle strawberries and blueberries in to my cup.

4. You gotta drink at your own pace:

- Yes we should all be drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day but if you are just beginning don’t expect yourself to be drinking that much. Start off with a small goal even if it is 1 cup a day or 1 bottle and every day or week up the next amount until you get to your goal.

Hopefully this helps someone stay hyderated!

... Read moreStaying properly hydrated is crucial for overall health and well-being. Hydration aids digestion, boosts energy levels, and improves cognitive function. Remember, everyone’s hydration needs differ based on activity level, age, and climate. Therefore, it's essential to listen to your body. To further enhance your hydration experience, consider adding natural flavors to your water, like lemon slices or cucumber, which can make drinking water more enjoyable. Additionally, tracking your water intake with apps or simple charts can motivate you to reach your daily goals. It’s a great idea to set reminders on your phone or use a water tracking app to help establish this healthy habit. Lastly, remember that foods with high water content, such as fruits and vegetables, also contribute to your hydration levels. Aim for a balanced approach that includes both drinking fluids and eating hydrating foods to ensure you feel your best every day.
