When I decided to tackle this iconic image, my main goal was to capture the sheer intimidating aura of Sukuna, the King of Curses, especially his original form that showcases those unique features. It’s always a thrill to work on characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, and Sukuna's design offers so much to explore. First off, getting those four arms right was a fascinating challenge! It’s not everyday you draw a character with extra limbs, so understanding the anatomy and how they’d naturally flow in a dynamic pose was key. I spent a good amount of time sketching out different positions to make sure they conveyed power and menace, rather than just looking tacked on. This really contributes to his overall intimidating presence, a detail I saw many of you searching for. Then there's his face – oh, Sukuna's face! I really concentrated on the close-up digital art of Sukuna’s face, aiming for that menacing expression with a tongue sticking out that truly defines him. His spiky pink hair and those distinctive multiple red eyes are central to his look. I layered different shades of red and added subtle glows to ensure his eyes had that piercing, serious quality. The sharp teeth also play a huge role in his intimidating aura, so I made sure to define them clearly to enhance his fierce look. For the background, I wanted to echo the intensity of the original cover, so I went with a vibrant red background with yellow and white starbursts. This really makes Sukuna pop and emphasizes the chaotic energy around him. And let’s not forget the detail of him holding open a glowing mouth on his torso – that was a fun effect to experiment with, using soft glows and shadows to make it look truly otherworldly. Digital art allows for so much flexibility in creating these magical elements. My advice for anyone attempting their own Sukuna fanart, especially his original four-armed form, is to really break down the reference. Focus on one complex element at a time, whether it's his unique anatomy, his distinct eyes, or that powerful expression. Don't be afraid to experiment with color and light to bring out his terrifying yet captivating essence. It’s all about capturing that 'Sukuna serious face' and his raw, unfiltered power.
