Last summer we had over 18 incredible presenters sharing their knowledge, lived experience and expertise to help you explore self-care through the lens of autistic culture in new or enhanced ways from language to rituals. You can revisit those sessions https://tinyurl.com/casyselfcare2025
This season we are exploring sensory rest and you are invited to join us in the way that works best for your schedule, preferred learning style and nervous system. There is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way to participate. Your well-being is at the heart of why we are sharing this short Summer Campfire experience.

Participating in the CASY Summer of Self-Care Campfire offers a rare opportunity to deeply connect with self-care practices tailored to sensory needs. Over the course of a week, exploring seven areas of sensory restoration helps you identify which types of sensory input or rest benefit your well-being most. From personal experience, embracing sensory rest has been transformative — allowing moments of calm and rejuvenation that carry through daily life. The event’s inclusive approach encourages participants to engage in ways that suit their unique nervous systems and learning preferences, emphasizing that no single method fits all. This flexibility reduces pressure and fosters authentic self-care. In addition to live sessions, the availability of past presentations provides ongoing resources to deepen your understanding. Sensory restoration techniques such as mindful breathing, gentle movement, and controlled exposure to soothing stimuli can be integrated after campfire sessions. For anyone living with heightened sensory sensitivities or navigating autistic culture, the CASY Summer Campfire supports a communal space where experiences and strategies are shared with empathy. This combined professional insight and lived experience enrich the learning environment and fosters resilience. Whether you choose to attend live or explore recordings later, the focus on nourishing the nervous system and honoring personal rhythms underscores a profound self-care philosophy that extends beyond the event. Taking the time this summer to prioritize sensory well-being is a meaningful investment in long-term mental and emotional health.
