Replying to @All about Mila and Mason not medical advice :) hope this helps 🥰
In my journey managing hydrogen sulfide dominant SIBO, I found that understanding the root causes was crucial. Hydrogen sulfide is not just produced by bacteria but also yeast as a defense mechanism in the mucosal lining, which can become toxic when in excess, leading to neurological symptoms and severe fatigue. What really helped me was incorporating butyrate supplements into my routine. Butyrate supports gut lining health and can counteract the harmful effects of hydrogen sulfide. I combined this with a sulfur-restricted diet for about six weeks, which made a remarkable difference. Foods high in sulfur often exacerbate symptoms, so cutting back helped reduce the toxic load. Additionally, bismuth-based supplements were recommended by my healthcare provider. These bind to sulfide, helping to reduce its levels in the gut. I also experimented with high doses of oregano oil and uva ursi, which have antimicrobial properties that target hydrogen sulfide-producing microbes without harming beneficial bacteria. Another key step was selecting specific probiotic strains aimed at restoring a balanced gut microbiome. Probiotics can play a role in outcompeting harmful bacteria and yeast responsible for excess hydrogen sulfide. However, the choice of strains is essential, and I found that consulting with a specialist to tailor probiotics based on individual symptoms and test results was beneficial. Managing hydrogen sulfide SIBO is a multifaceted process involving diet, supplements, and sometimes medical advice. Sharing these steps that worked for me may provide a helpful starting point for others facing similar symptoms of mold illness, SIBO, and gut health challenges.
