some of my unpopular food opinions pt 2

... Read moreOkay, so my last post about unpopular food opinions stirred up quite the debate, especially my feelings on mango! But guess what? I’m back with a fresh batch of food takes that might just make you gasp. Get ready, because these are even more controversial, and I'm genuinely curious to see if anyone out there agrees with me! First up, let's talk about steak. I know, I know, it’s practically revered, but honestly, I just don't get the hype. For me, it's often tough, chewy, and just… boring. Give me a perfectly cooked piece of chicken or some flaky fish any day over a big slab of steak. Am I alone in feeling like it's often overrated, or do you also find yourself picking other options on the menu? Then there’s Nutella. Don't come for me! While I see everyone raving about it, I find it overly sweet and a bit artificial. The only way I can genuinely enjoy it is if it's almost completely masked in something else – like blended into a smoothie or as a tiny swirl in a dessert. Eating it straight from the jar? Absolutely not. It really makes me wonder if my taste buds are wired differently sometimes! And speaking of unique cravings, remember how I mentioned I love olives? It’s true! As a kid, I even used to drink the black olive juice straight from the can. I know it sounds bizarre, but there's something about that briny, salty flavor that I just can't get enough of. It's a taste sensation that some might find odd, but for me, it's pure deliciousness. But here's one that usually gets the most perplexed reactions: I actually eat lemons the way you would eat an orange. Yes, you read that right! I peel them and just bite right in. The initial sourness is intense, but then there’s this incredible burst of refreshing citrus that I find so invigorating. It's not for the faint of heart, but it’s an experience I truly enjoy. Who else out there loves a good sour kick? Beyond my personal quirks, there are a few other things that often divide people. Like cilantro – for some, it’s a fresh, zesty herb, but for others, it tastes exactly like soap! Such a wild genetic difference, right? Or how about dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets? I remember loving them as a kid, but now? They just don't hit the same. The nostalgia is there, but the actual taste and texture? Definitely overrated in my adult opinion. And on the dessert front, while many adore chocolate ice cream, I’d pick a classic vanilla any day. Sometimes, simple is just better. It's fascinating how diverse our palates are and how what one person loves, another can't stand. Sharing these opinions is always a fun way to spark conversation and discover just how many other food rebels are out there. What are some of your own unpopular food opinions? I'd love to hear them! Let's get this delicious debate going!
