what I read in February
Another eight books down! I never really considered autobiographies to be a favorite genre of mine but I’ve read four so far this year 🤷🏻♀️
Next up:
- From Blood and Ash
- The Love Hypothesis
- House of Flame and Shadow
- A Touch of Darkness
What books are you looking forward to this month? Do you have any lesser known recommendations for me? I want more for my TBR!

Wow, reflecting on my February reading recap, I'm genuinely thrilled with the 3,676 pages I managed to devour across 8 incredible books! It's always fascinating to look back and see not just what I read, but how I read and the overall vibe of my literary journey. The pie charts from my StoryGraph showed a rich tapestry of reading moods – everything from emotional and adventurous to reflective, mysterious, and even dark. It really highlighted how varied my reading diet was last month. I've found that paying attention to these 'reading moods' is super helpful. Sometimes I crave something light and inspiring, while other days call for a challenging or informative read. February definitely had a mix! For instance, diving into memoirs like 'Pageboy' by Elliot Page or 'Spare' by Prince Harry brought out a deeply reflective and informative mood, which I surprisingly enjoyed. I never thought autobiographies would become such a staple, but they've offered such unique perspectives and powerful storytelling. It’s a genre I’m now actively seeking out! Beyond moods, the genre breakdown was also interesting, with a good chunk in Fantasy, Memoir, and Young Adult. It's a testament to how different stories can satisfy different parts of your reading soul. For fantasy, Sarah J. Maas's 'House of Sky and Breath' and 'House of Earth and Blood' were epic escapes. If you're looking for a similar vibe, I highly recommend them for their immersive worlds and intricate plots. Hitting over 3,600 pages felt like a huge accomplishment, and I think tracking my daily page count, as shown in my 'Pages in February 2024' graph, really motivated me. Little goals each day add up! If you're struggling to read more, try keeping a simple log or using an app like StoryGraph to visualize your progress. It makes a big difference. Now, looking ahead, my TBR pile is already stacked with exciting titles like 'From Blood and Ash,' 'The Love Hypothesis,' 'House of Flame and Shadow,' and 'A Touch of Darkness.' I'm always on the hunt for those hidden gems. Do you have any lesser-known recommendations that fit a similar adventurous or emotionally resonant mood? I'd love to hear what you're looking forward to reading this month or any books that surprised you recently! Let's help each other expand our literary horizons!
