Always be kind to yourself
#growthmindset #lemon8challenge For me this year has been so different than all others in my life. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November. In March I had a mastectomy. At the end of July I will have my final reconstructive surgery. Self care, wearing fun looks and changing up my hair color are things that make me feel good so of course I kicked these things into overdrive during this time. I even did something that scared me a little and took a flying trapeze lesson. What was the last kind thing you did for yourself? And go book that mammogram too.

Navigating life's challenges can be daunting, especially when dealing with health issues such as cancer. Practicing self-kindness is vital in fostering a positive mental state and overall well-being. Engaging in self-care routines—like experimenting with hairstyles or indulging in activities that excite you—can help lift spirits and promote healing. Research shows that self-kindness can significantly impact mental health, bolstering resilience against adversity. Remember, self-kindness isn't just about pampering yourself; it also includes essential health practices, such as scheduling regular checkups or engaging in preventive care, like mammograms. Celebrate small victories and embrace joyful experiences, as these moments contribute greatly to a sense of normalcy and joy in life. It's crucial to build a support system, connect with fellow warriors who understand your journey, and share inspiring personal stories that uplift. Lastly, never underestimate the power of activities that may seem intimidating, like a flying trapeze lesson; stepping out of comfort zones can lead to profound self-discovery and empowerment. Your journey matters, and so does your kindness towards yourself.
