books the internet overhyped to me 😗
i do regret finishing these books because i knew i didn’t like them & wanted to DNF but made myself push through bc i thought i would “miss something” if i didn’t finish these “spectacular books!” but ended up not liking them and/or being bored the whole time anyways! 🤩

i gave this 3/5 on goodreads, i appreciate the story concept & characters but it was so boring & hard to get through for me. imo there were lots of directions the story could have gone and it just felt lackluster to me, i struggled to get through it
👉 daisy jones & the six by taylor jenkins reid
last year i was on a huge TJR kick and read all the books in this “miniverse” she’s created and daisy jones was by far my least favorite of all of them. again, it was incredibly difficult for me to get through. i felt like there was no story at all. i was constantly waiting for a conflict, waiting for a climax, waiting for resolution, but the book ended without any of it happening (in my opinion). i felt like i read a novel of friends gossiping and not really in a good way 😬 2/5 for me

if you’ve seen my other posts i talked about how i go into reading books blindly, i don’t read the excerpts or summaries online, i quite literally almost at random select a book and start reading it. i did the same exact with this book and i regret it lol. lots of content warnings for this book, please do your research if you’ve wanted to read. it was hard to get through just because of how traumatizing it was to read. i made myself push through hoping for some heroine action and while there was a decently happy ending… i don’t know, it just wasn’t my cup of tea i guess. another 2/5 for me

I really liked the Midnight Library but it seems to be a very polarizing book. I think for me, it hit very close to home as I have defining moments in my life where if a different decision was made my life would be drastically different and I often wonder how.
