- i paid full price (approx. $30?) and didn’t feel it was worth it
- lots of bugs & glitches with initial launch (most likely much better now!)
- developers listened carefully to user feedback which was great
- the game itself was really cute and i had a good time playing (when it worked 😬)

i bought this the DAY it came out 😅 i had been following the developers on TT for months in anticipation of the release so i was over the moon to start playing it when it released earlier than anyone thought!
..that being said, there were tons of bugs & glitches which overall impacted my gameplay & thoughts on it 😬 when it first came out there weren’t many people playing it, i was in a group on a fb dedicated to it with >50 people and every single person in the group was experiencing glitches and bugs and looking more for tech support than game support 😳
the developers were extremely quick to put out patches as quickly as they could, and that was much appreciated! in that group i saw lots of people losing entire save files & more so i decided to take some time away from it to let them get more patches out before continuing gameplay. which really sucked, because i actually loved the game itself!
i would 100%, without a doubt, say my rating is mostly based on the fact that the launch was done so poorly and just rushed. i would’ve much rather had waited an entire year+ for the game to be done correctly rather than have such a frustrating time trying to play a game that’s supposed to be relaxing :/
as far as actual gameplay:
that’s a 5/5 for me, i really loved the story line and i loved all the little tasks, gathering things, and of course selling at the night market every week!
this is a game i want to play again for sure but i’m going to wait a bit longer just to make sure all the bugs are gone 😬

Who doesn't love a game where you can interact with cute felines and build a bustling community? The story elements, which I rated a 5/5, are surprisingly engaging. It’s not just a simple fetch quest; there's a lovely narrative unfolding that keeps you invested in Mineko’s journey and the quirky residents of Mt. Fugu. The progression feels natural, and each discovery adds another layer to the charming world. And let's not forget the namesake: the Night Market itself! This weekly event is the heart of the game, a place where all your hard work in gathering, crafting, and befriending culminates. Setting up your stall, haggling with customers, and seeing your inventory dwindle as you make sales is incredibly satisfying. It’s a rewarding cycle that makes you look forward to each in-game week. So, how do we navigate the 'purchase' decision when a game has a rocky start, as Mineko's did? My honest review was tough because I paid full price, anticipating a smooth experience. My advice? If a game catches your eye but has a history of launch issues, it's often wise to wait. Keep an eye on developer updates, read recent community discussions, and check out updated reviews. Many games, like Mineko's, receive significant patches that transform the experience. The fact that the developers were so responsive, quickly releasing patches and listening to user feedback, is a huge positive indicator for its long-term potential. It shows they care about the game and its players. Currently, it's 20% off on the Nintendo eShop, which makes the investment feel less risky now that many of those initial bugs have likely been ironed out. For those who love games with crafting, exploration, a charming story, and plenty of cats, Mineko's Night Market could now be the delightful cozy experience it was always meant to be. It truly embodies the spirit of a relaxing, engaging indie title. I'm definitely planning my return to Mt. Fugu soon, hoping for that seamless, relaxing gameplay I longed for at launch. It's a game with immense potential, and sometimes, a little patience really does pay off before diving into a new adventure.
