Retail stores like furniture shops, home decor stores, and even some department stores often discard perfectly usable items that might have minor cosmetic flaws or were simply display models. Don't overlook apartment complex dumpsters around move-out days; that's where I've found some real gems, including my amazing console table and those pristine mirrors. It takes patience and a keen eye, but the thrill of spotting a diamond in the rough is unmatched. When I bring home my dumpster diving finds, the first thing I do is thoroughly clean everything. For furniture like my console table, a good scrub and maybe some wood polish can make it look brand new. For items like the mirrors, a glass cleaner and a check for cracks are usually all that’s needed.
