Scariest experience on a roller coaster
I am curious, what are the scariest things you have experienced on a coaster? Coasters are very safe, but things can still happen due to bad luck and poor maintenance.
Personally, the scariest thing that happened to me was a year or two ago. I convinced my friend to go on it with me, we waited an hour in line for it and then got (I believe) row 5 or 6, so near the back.
Well, as we were going up the lift, which is already scary enough, we noticed a funny ticking noise, and noticed one of the wheels was sparking. This really freaked my buddy out, and admittedly freaked me out a bit as well.
We crested the lift and the ride went just fine, and we both had a great time. When we returned to the station, I made sure to tell the op that the wheel was sparking and they should have maintenance check it out ASAP. Better safe than sorry :)
On a much less scary note, I noticed Full Throttle's stators in the tunnel sparking every few seconds, but I wanted to get on the ride because we just waited at least 15 minutes in line and I wanted to get on the ride before I had to go. Not sure what this means, not an electrician lol.
