Is it too mature for a kid?
Her mom’s a style icon, and North’s clearly inherited that flair. But kids should be building pillow forts, not curating OOTDs. When did we start letting 10 years olds get acrylics and designer labels? Don’t get me wrong, self-expression is great. But there’s a difference between cute kid in cool clothes and mini-adult in a child’s body. Let’s not let the internet turn our kids into tiny influencers before they’ve even mastered bike-riding. Is North’s style empowering or is it robbing her of a carefree childhood?

Okay, so I've been seeing a lot of chatter online, especially on forums like Reddit, about North West's style lately, and I just had to share my own thoughts and see what you all think. It’s hard to ignore, right? On one hand, you see this young girl rocking incredible designer outfits, elaborate hairstyles, and even acrylics, and you think, 'Wow, she's really expressing herself!' And self-expression is absolutely something we should encourage in kids. But then another part of me, maybe the more traditional side, just keeps asking, 'Is this a bit much for a child?' It really makes me think about that viral image I saw, the one with the text "WHAT IN THE ACTUAL HECK IS HAPPENING WITH LITTLE KIDS ON THE INTERNET?" It perfectly captures this feeling of unease many of us have. Are we, as a society, and especially through the lens of social media and celebrity culture, pushing our kids to grow up too fast? It feels like we're blurring the lines between a carefree childhood and the pressures of being a 'mini-adult' or a 'tiny influencer.' I remember being 10, and my biggest fashion concern was picking out the sparkliest shoes for school or figuring out how to perfectly layer my friendship bracelets. The idea of curating an 'OOTD' (Outfit Of The Day) or having a style that's constantly critiqued by millions online wasn't even a concept. Is it fair to put that kind of spotlight and expectation on children? While North has an incredibly stylish mom, and clearly has access to amazing resources, does that mean she should be styled in ways that feel more appropriate for someone twice her age? Some argue it's just fashion, harmless fun, and that kids deserve to experiment. And I totally get that! My kids love playing dress-up. But there’s a difference between playing dress-up and consistently being presented in a way that seems to fast-track them into adulthood, often with adult beauty standards. Acrylic nails, heavy makeup, expensive designer bags – these are things many adults save up for or consider a treat, not everyday wear for a prepubescent child. It’s a tough balance for parents, especially those in the public eye. How do you foster creativity and individuality without inadvertently exposing your child to adult pressures and expectations? I truly believe kids should be building pillow forts, falling off their bikes, and getting messy without a care about their 'image' or what trends they're setting. They need that time to just *be kids.* What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it’s empowering for North West to have such a distinct, mature style at her age, or do you worry, like I do, that it might be robbing her of a truly carefree childhood that every kid deserves? I'm genuinely curious to hear different perspectives on this complex topic.

In my opinion, you’re projecting. North is 12 and is influenced by her mother and dad. Why are you worrying about what she’s wearing? She’s not going around in a crop top and booty shorts like the girls in early 2000’s did. I love Paris Hilton and Britney Spears but those were icons you did not want your kids being influenced by. North has a tank top on that covers her stomach, dyed blue hair and acrylic nails…there is nothing wrong with that. You’re too grown to be focusing on what a child (who’s not yours) is wearing.
