Should he do it?

My friend hit me up asking to help him pack, then he want me to take whatever I want. I was totally shocked, it felt like he was saying goodbye. When I pressed him why, he said he’s been dating someone online for ""months"". That guy wants him to quit his job, move across the state, and swears he’ll support him.

They make roughly the same money (my friend’s a programmer), so money isn’t the issue here. But get this, he’s planning to hand in his resignation next Monday. I think it’s so impulsive, so I told him that starting over somewhere new and leaning on someone you’ve only talked to online is risky. You don’t even know his real character and this isn’t a long-term plan.

But he’s so on it. He said: “I really like him, this is my first real love. I just wanna be with him. Guys, how should I step in? I know it's fishy but he is believing it...

he needs to take a 2 week vacation to stay with him. keep his job. don't quit until then.

moving in after a few months is TOO fast. you dont really know someone even after just a year, as a person let alone dating.
