November 16th #ScriptureChallenge

I've been reflecting a lot lately on the profound declaration, 'He has risen!' It’s more than just a historical event; it’s the cornerstone of our faith, signifying victory over death and the incredible power available to us as believers. This truth resonates deeply, especially when I think about how that resurrection power manifested through the apostles, like in the story from Acts 3:4-8 that was part of a recent #ScriptureChallenge I took on November 16th. Reading through Acts 3:4-8 in the KJVAAE, I was captivated by Peter's encounter with the lame man at the Beautiful Gate. The man was looking for alms, but Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit – the very Spirit empowered by the risen Christ – offered something far greater. He said, 'Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.' And immediately, this man, who had been lame from birth, was healed! This isn't just a story about a physical healing; it's a vibrant illustration of the transformative power of the Risen Christ. Peter didn't heal the man through his own strength or wealth; he did it 'in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.' This phrase is so crucial. It reminds me that the power Peter wielded was not his own, but flowed directly from the resurrected Lord. The same Jesus who conquered the grave was now working miracles through His disciples. For me, this passage ties directly back to the incredible truth that 'He has risen.' Because Jesus rose, His disciples were empowered to continue His work, perform miracles, and spread His message with authority. It makes me realize that the resurrection wasn't just an end to Jesus' earthly ministry, but the beginning of a new era where His Spirit and power would indwell believers. This concept has such practical application in our daily lives. While we might not be performing dramatic physical healings every day, the power of the Risen Christ enables us to overcome our own 'lameness' – whether it's spiritual weakness, emotional burdens, or challenges that seem insurmountable. Just as Peter acted boldly in faith, we too are called to step out, trusting in the resurrection power that lives within us. It’s about recognizing that our strength comes from Him who has conquered all. This #ScriptureChallenge on November 16th really brought this connection home for me. It’s a powerful reminder that the resurrection isn't just something we celebrate once a year; it’s a living, active truth that empowers us every single day to live with hope, courage, and the ability to bring God's healing and love to those around us. What an amazing testament to the enduring power of our Risen Lord!
