40 Day Fast (fruit and veggies edition)

Hey, it has been a while! So I’m currently doing a 40 day fast and (my fast is kinda complicated so I’ll make a separate post) I can only eat fruits and vegetables on Saturdays. It has been rough but Jesus is guiding me through.

The cucumbers were supposed to be a snack but I was wrapped in the Spirit for hours and forgot to eat lol

Anyway here’s what I ate today:

Pre Breakfast- banana 🍌+ immunity and detoxification shot

Breakfastfruit- salad cereal (kiwi🥝 strawberries🍓blackberries, raspberries, grapes, pineapple🍍pear🍐 and pomegranate seeds with a splash of lemon juice🍋 and some coconut water🥥)

Snack- cucumbers 🥒(lightly seasoned with salt and pepper with Italian dressing)

Dinner- baked sweet potato🍠 roasted chickpeas, and Spinach

Personally, I found it to be a deeply transformative experience, not just for my body but for my mind and spirit too. It’s more than just a diet; it’s a reset. Many choose a fruit and vegetable fast for its incredible health benefits. Think natural detoxification, a boost in energy, clearer skin, and a renewed appreciation for whole foods. You might experience initial detox symptoms, but staying hydrated and listening to your body is key. It’s like hitting a reset button for your entire system, helping your body to cleanse and rejuvenate. For those looking for a comprehensive health reset, understanding the nutritional benefits of each fruit and vegetable is a true guide to maximizing your intake. Before diving into a long fast, preparation is crucial. I found it helpful to gradually reduce processed foods beforehand. Stocking up on a variety of fresh produce is also a game-changer. For a fast like this, you'll want a rainbow of fruits and vegetables – from leafy greens and vibrant berries to hearty root vegetables. Planning your fruit and vegetable fast meal plan in advance can make a huge difference in sticking to it, especially if you’re aiming for something like a 21-day or 40-day duration. Keeping your meals interesting is vital, especially during a prolonged fruit and veggie fast. For breakfast, a big fruit salad with kiwi, strawberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes, pineapple, pear, and pomegranate seeds (just like my morning plate!) is always a winner. Don't forget those energizing fruit bowls! For snacks, simple things like seasoned cucumbers or a handful of grapes can be surprisingly satisfying. For lunch or dinner, roasted veggies like sweet potatoes, spinach, and chickpeas are incredibly filling and nutritious. You can get creative with different seasonings to keep things exciting! Think about creating a vibrant fruit fasting plate for each meal to make it visually appealing as well as nourishing. And let’s talk about those power-packed additions! I've personally found homemade juice shots to be incredibly helpful. An Immunity Shot packed with ginger and lemon can give you a real boost, while a Detoxification Shot with ingredients like turmeric and black pepper can support your body's cleansing process. These aren't just tasty; they’re little liquid boosts that make a big difference when your diet is restricted. Learning about various fruit and vegetable combinations for these shots can really enhance your fasting journey. Beyond the physical, the mental and spiritual aspects of a fast are profound. It truly is a journey of self-discovery and discipline. There will be tough moments, but focusing on the bigger picture – whether it's spiritual growth or simply a healthier you – can provide immense strength. It’s about building resilience and connecting with your inner self. If you're wondering how people fast for 21 days or even longer, this mental fortitude is often the secret. If you’re considering a fruit and veggie fast, remember to consult with a health professional first. But know that with careful planning and a positive mindset, it can be an incredibly rewarding experience. You’ve got this!
