Chanced upon this restaurant while researching for good food and did not regret coming here at all. They offer a variety of dishes, but we heard their chicken soup is an absolute MUST ORDER. We went with a bowl of the chicken soup and an order of pig intestines since we were hitting the night market later on.
The chicken soup 🐔 completely surprised us — rich, super creamy, and full of flavour without being too heavy. The chicken was exceptionally tender, falling off the bone and melting in the mouth, making the entire bowl incredibly comforting and satisfying.
The pig intestines 🐽 were another highlight — super crispy on the outside, chewy inside, and clean-tasting with no unpleasant flavours at all, could use a little more salt but is still super addictive.
We walked in at 5pm and we were very lucky to have the 1 and only walk in table. Every other table was reserved and I overheard a customer trying to book for March only to be told that reservations are accepted no more than two months in advance. Safe to say, we got very lucky.

I learned that the chicken soup there is beloved for its silky broth that is deeply flavorful yet light, making it perfect even after a long day of sightseeing. The chicken literally melts in your mouth, which really sets this spot apart from other eateries.
The crispy fried pig intestines are another highlight. Their texture is a delightful balance of crispy exterior with a chewy, tender center. Although slightly under-seasoned for my taste, the natural flavors shine through, making it a unique snack to pair with the chicken soup.

For travelers thinking about other Taiwanese chicken soups—like the famous Din Tai Fung chicken soup—G-Woo offers a distinctly creamy and rich experience that travelers shouldn’t miss. It's a perfect stop if chasing authentic Taiwanese flavors beyond typical tourist spots.
Overall, my experience at G-Woo added a special highlight to my Taiwan food journey, especially for fans of comforting broths and adventurous fried snacks.
