rating my june books!
With June 2025 closing, here are all the books I've read this month! I had been in a reading slump (pretty bad too) up until the middle of June.
I have a whole list planned for July and I'm excited for a lot of these! I'll definitely make another post about what books are on my July TBR.
Here are my overall thoughts on each of these books:
📕 Sharp Objects
• I love a good mystery and Gillian Flynn is so good at writing them
• The exposition is kinda slow which was difficult at first, but after you get over that hill the plot is SO good
📗 We Can Never Leave This Place
• I was so confused most of the time because the metaphors are complex for genuinely no reason
• It was a super super quick read so I can't complain
📘 Brutes
• Definitely overhyped (I see you BookTok) but it was a decent enough book
• The author's commentary on girlhood and friends was gut wrenching — exactly what I look for
📙 Rest Stop
• Also a super quick read which is nice for an afternoon
• I didn't like any of the characters which kinda made it difficult to read but that's okay because the plot was good.
