Working on a photography book like "Alabama Skies" that combines both visual artistry and poetry has been a deeply rewarding experience for me. Capturing the ever-changing formations of clouds presents a unique challenge—each moment is fleeting, and lighting conditions shift quickly, making patience and timing essential. One thing I’ve learned in this creative journey is how clouds can evoke different emotions and inspire personal reflection. When you photograph clouds, you notice patterns and shapes that often resemble familiar objects or scenes, sparking imagination. Pairing these images with poetry allows for a richer storytelling experience where visuals and words complement each other, inviting readers to feel connected to nature’s canvas. Additionally, Alabama’s diverse weather patterns offer a rich palette for photography. From dramatic storm clouds to delicate, wispy cirrus on clear days, the skies here never disappoint.
