Gorillaz Doodles ✏️

Hey everyone! I'm so thrilled to share a bit more about my Gorillaz fan art journey. Like many of you, I totally fell down the rabbit hole of their incredible lore, and it just sparked this urge to draw! When I first started getting into the Gorillaz universe, I found myself constantly sketching out ideas. It wasn't about perfection, but about capturing the unique vibe of each character. For these particular doodles, I really focused on some of my favorites: Noodle, 2D, and Murdoc Niccals. Drawing Noodle is always a blast; her spiky black hair, headphones, and signature goggles give her such a distinct look. I often start with her head shape, then block in the hair and accessories. Sometimes, I even try to imagine her ‘evolution’ through different phases, which is a great way to practice different styles! Then there's 2D. His dreamy, often melancholic expression is so iconic. I love playing with his plaid hat and trying to get that perfect balance of vulnerability and cool. Even though he's often shown smoking, I try to capture his essence through his wide smile and visible teeth in my sketches. For beginners looking for an easy Gorillaz drawing, 2D's simple facial structure can be a good starting point. Just focus on those big, expressive eyes! And of course, Murdoc Niccals – the self-proclaimed leader! He's probably the most challenging but also the most fun to draw because of his exaggerated features. That spiky hair, sharp teeth, and often long tongue sticking out just scream Murdoc! I find focusing on his angular jawline and mischievous grin really brings out his personality. Don't be afraid to go a bit wild with his expressions; that's part of his charm. If you're wondering how to draw Gorillaz characters yourself, my biggest tip is to start with simple line art. Don't worry about shading or complex details right away. Just get the basic shapes and proportions down. Look at different Gorillaz concept art for inspiration, but then put your own spin on it. There are tons of online resources for Gorillaz drawing easy tutorials, or you can just pause your favorite music video and try to sketch what you see. What I love most about creating Gorillaz doodles is how it connects me to the fandom and helps me appreciate the rich storytelling even more. It’s a wonderful way to express my passion for their music and world. These sketches might just be simple fan art, but they mean a lot to me.
