写真みたいに「星空を見上げる人のシルエット」を撮りたいなら、私は“明るさのコントロール”がいちばん大事だと感じました。真っ暗な国立公園だと星は爆発的に綺麗に出る一方、人物はそのままだと真っ黒になりがち。私は小さめのライト（スマホでもOK）を手元だけ一瞬当てて、顔ではなく体の輪郭が出るくらいで止めるのがちょうどよかったです。光を長く当てると夜空が白っぽくなって星が消えるので、「短く、弱く」がコツ。松の木のシルエットも入れると、スケール感が出て“世界三大星空っぽさ”が一気に増しました。 あと、天気が不安定な日って「雨のち流星群」を期待しつつ、実際は雲に負けることも多いです。私が意識したのは、雨上がり直後にいきなり空が開けることがあるので、すぐ撤退せずに1〜2時間だけ粘ること。雲の切れ間が出た瞬間に流星が連発することもありました。逆に、地面が濡れて気温が落ちやすいので、10月でも氷点下を想定して防寒を厚めに。体感的には「日本の真冬の深夜の山」レベルで、手袋・ニット帽・厚手の靴下があるだけで快適さが全然違いました。 流星群を見るときは、“お願い”を考えている間に流れ星が終わることが多くて、私は短いフレーズを決め打ちしました。例えば「安全に旅が続きますように」「またこの星空に来られますように」みたいに一言で言える願いにしておくと、流れた瞬間にすぐ心の中で言えて満足度が高かったです。 最後に、初めて行く人向けの準備メモ。キャンプ場は設備（トイレ、ファイヤーピット）があっても、夜は本当に暗いのでヘッドライトは必須。星見は首が疲れるので、私はリクライニングできるチェアか、寝転べるマットがあると最高でした。天文台は時間制限やガイド条件があるので、現地ゲート到着の目安時間を逆算して動くのがおすすめ。こういう“小さな段取り”ができると、星空鑑賞が「寒さとの戦い」じゃなくて「一生の思い出」になります。
