This was the first movie I made over 6 years ago and while I was proud being able to produce it to completion… I didn’t feel confident enough to pitch it. My emotions and other factors came into play, but there’s one thing that’s undeniable. The amount of talent and dedication in this one film alone. I hand-picked everyone in this project. Showed up to every meeting even when I “didn’t have to.” I chose the cast, crew, even the “extras.” Because there are no small roles, only small actors.
And shoutout to Courtni Saizon for being the best foot forward teaching me such a powerful producer start with this one. Taught me the foundation, and then I ran with it. Each person was chosen not just because of their resume, but because of their hunger, drive, and willingness to be a team player. There were times where the makeup artist had to stand-in as a crazed fan. Imagine if she told me “that’s not my job.” Forever grateful & thankful for everyone 🥲 It’s not good enough to have a vision. You gotta create a table of people that want to eat what you’re cooking 💖
