Being “fired” from one of the biggest business consulting firms in the nation with a 3% acceptance rate has to be the COMPLETE opposite of an ego boost. 😂

My former manager actually shed a tear… told me I was a hard worker and she was sad it didn’t work out. She even wished me something much better. No manager had ever said that to me before… and they don’t hand out severance to just anybody. Yet there I was, doe-eyed like Bambi, realizing there was nothing funny about what was happening.

All I could think about was how I was going to eat. How I was going to pay for the new apartment I just got. Eight weeks of the same paycheck barely keeping me afloat wasn’t going to cut it.

I could cry now and boss up later… OR I could cry and boss up at the same time. (Because old habits die hard okay my north node is in Capricorn ♑️).

I thought that was the end of my story. People would probably see me in a cardboard box under a pass on 85 like “WAIT, isn’t that…?!” 😳 But really, it was the start of me betting on myself.

Walking down a dark hallway not knowing what’s on the other side is scary; especially with this job market. So many people are out of work, out of hope, out of luck. Rejection emails still rolling in 🙃 and the more I applied, the deeper I spiraled into depression.

That’s when I realized: freedom matters more than the fake safety of security. One call and they could say, “You have no income anymore. Good luck.”

And the wild part? While I was still at that job, I once said out loud, “This will be my last job.” I didn’t even mean it. I was just frustrated. But the universe & God must’ve heard me.

Now, I’m not “funemployed.” I’m building something that’s mine. Nobody can call me and say, “Game’s over, give us back the laptop.” I make my own rules.

It took tears, delusion, and guts I didn’t know I had. I know people worry about me, and honestly I still get sick to my stomach thinking about it… but I wasn’t made to just pay bills and die.
