The street fair Family-time
Today way one of the very few days that my man has off of work because he works so hard 🩷 so we went to the street fair that was held downtown and it was so much all the food was soo tasty I didn’t take pics of everything we did and eat lol but it was so much fun🥰
Oh my gosh, street fairs are truly one of my favorite ways to spend quality time with family! This past weekend was just magical, and it got me thinking about all the reasons why I love them so much and how to make the most of your own visit. First off, the food scene at a street fair is always a major highlight. You just have to go with an open mind and an empty stomach! Beyond the classic hot dogs and pretzels, I always keep an eye out for unique vendors. This last fair, I spotted a stall with incredible Elotes – that Mexican street corn is seriously a game-changer with its creamy, spicy, cheesy goodness. And for dessert? There was this amazing place doing HAWAIIAN shaved ice, but they also had 'Honey cone ice cream' which was such a sweet, refreshing treat. It’s these little culinary adventures that really make the day special. My biggest tip? Don't be afraid to try something new, and maybe even share a few different dishes with your family so everyone gets a taste! But it’s not just about the food. The atmosphere at a street fair is just buzzing with energy. There’s usually live music playing, local artisans showcasing their crafts, and so many unique things to see. For families with kids, look out for activities like face painting – it's always a hit and makes for adorable photos! I saw so many kids running around with their faces painted like tigers or butterflies, just living their best lives. It’s a wonderful way to let the little ones explore and have some creative fun. To truly enjoy your 'Family time' at a street fair, a little planning goes a long way. I always recommend wearing super comfortable shoes because you'll be doing a lot of walking. Also, it’s a good idea to bring some cash, as not all vendors accept cards, especially the smaller ones. Check the fair's schedule online beforehand if you can, to see if there are any specific performances or events you don't want to miss. And don't forget to stay hydrated, especially if it's a warm day – juggling delicious food and fun activities can be thirsty work! What I love most is how street fairs bring communities together. It’s a chance to step away from daily routines, discover local talents, and simply soak in the happy vibes. Whether you're enjoying a sweet treat, watching a street performer, or just strolling hand-in-hand with your loved ones, street fairs are perfect for creating those unforgettable family memories. So next time you see one pop up in your area, definitely mark it on your calendar – you won't regret it!
