Pet sitter pros and cons

Under no circumstances, am I going to sugarcoat or complain about my pet sitting business. It’s a wonderful job, but again it is a job. There are a few things I would change. And I actually do have the power to change some of those things. I think the biggest pro with being an independent pet sitter is the fact that I am able to work alone. I’m not antisocial, I’m just introverted. The biggest con with being an independent pet sitter is the fact that my business is growing pretty slowly. It takes a lot of patience to be okay with this. I think I could also get better with marketing/promoting on social media.

By the way, this is Coconut (Coco for short), and she is the sweetest thing!🥰🐈

On the positive side, you have the flexibility of setting your own schedule and working independently, which is great for introverts or those looking to escape a traditional office environment. You also enjoy the joy of spending time with animals and forming bonds with your furry clients. However, there are challenges to consider. The business may grow slowly, requiring patience and effective marketing strategies to increase visibility. Often, clients may not provide sufficient instructions leading to potential misunderstandings. Additionally, dealing with last-minute cancellations can be frustrating, as can the discomfort that sometimes arises from small talk with clients, especially if you're introverted. Understanding pets with special needs or elderly issues can also present a challenge, requiring extra care and attention. Overall, evaluate these pros and cons carefully before diving into a pet sitting career to ensure it aligns with your expectations and lifestyle.
