Carnotaurus

The Carnotaurus, meaning "meat-eating bull," was established in 1984 by paleontologist Jose Bonaparte. This dinosaur, which flourished in what is now Argentina during the Late Cretaceous period, reached lengths of 24 to 30 feet and weighed between 1.5 to 2 tons. Its distinctive features include two large horns above its eyes and small, vestigial arms, which help it stand out among theropod dinosaurs. One of the most astonishing aspects of Carnotaurus is the incredible preservation of its fossil, which not only provided a well-preserved skeleton but also skin impressions showing a rough, pebbly texture covered with larger scales. These adaptations are believed to have contributed to its agility and hunting prowess. As a predatory dinosaur, the Carnotaurus likely hunted prey that was smaller than itself, using its powerful legs and speed to pursue its targets.
