Emergency Preparedness Week 10 challenge

As we progress through the Emergency Preparedness Week 10 Challenge, it's essential to focus on assembling a practical emergency kit. This kit should ideally include both short-term and long-term food storage options. For this week, consider adding 2 boxes of instant potatoes and 2 boxes of instant rice to your supplies. Long-term options can involve stocking up on 3 gallons of shelf-stable milk and 2 boxes of hot chocolate mix. Another key component of your preparation is water. Set aside $10 specifically for future purchases and ensure you have at least 5 gallons of water readily available. In addition to food and water, think about non-food items that will enhance your sustainability during an emergency. Officially, 8 lighters, 2 boxes of matches, and a pack of candles are strongly recommended. Don't forget to prepare your 72-hour kit, which should include comforting reading material, a notebook with pens and pencils, and any additional items that help maintain normalcy during stressful situations.
