Humble yourself, God will exhalt you!!

I remember struggling with what it truly meant to 'humble yourself before the Lord.' For a long time, I thought it meant diminishing myself, feeling unworthy, or even being a doormat. But through my own spiritual journey, I've come to understand that it's profoundly different and incredibly liberating. The quote, 'The lower you go in God, the higher He'll take you!!,' truly resonated with me. It’s not about making ourselves small, but about recognizing God's immense greatness and our dependence on Him. It's about letting go of our pride, our need for control, and our self-sufficiency, and instead, leaning fully into His wisdom and strength. When I first heard 'Only the mature will catch it!', I felt challenged to dive deeper. And indeed, it’s a truth that unfolds with spiritual maturity. So, what does 'getting low' practically involve in our daily lives? For me, it's a conscious decision each morning to surrender my plans and worries to God. It means admitting when I'm wrong, both to God and to others, and seeking forgiveness. Humility often shows up in small, consistent acts: choosing to serve someone else without seeking recognition, offering a genuine apology, or simply being grateful for the blessings in my life, no matter how small. It’s about listening more than I speak, and seeking understanding before being understood. I've found that true humility isn't about self-deprecation; it’s about having an accurate view of ourselves in relation to an Almighty God. It's acknowledging that all good things come from Him, and that without His grace, I can do nothing of lasting value. This mindset actually releases me from the pressure of having to prove myself or always be right. It brings an incredible sense of peace. And what about the promise that 'God will exalt you'? This isn't about worldly fame or material wealth, though God can bless us in many ways. From my experience, divine exaltation often looks like an increase in inner peace, a deeper sense of purpose, clearer guidance, and a profound joy that isn't dependent on external circumstances. It's about God lifting our spirits, expanding our capacity for love and service, and using us in ways we never imagined. It’s a transformation of the heart and mind. It’s crucial to '#StayTheCourse' on this path of humility. It’s not a one-time declaration but a continuous journey. There will be days when pride creeps back in, when I want to take control, or when I feel misunderstood. But consistently returning to that humble posture, praying for a humble heart, and actively seeking God's will keeps me grounded. This perseverance, this commitment to staying low before God, is where true spiritual growth happens. It's a journey of faith, trust, and continuous surrender, and the rewards are immeasurable.

Amen 🙏🏽
