The more kind people,
Sometimes we give too much priority to the other person.
I don't want to be hated.
I don't wanna hurt you.
I want to accept as much as possible.
That feeling is very important.
But, uh,
To forgive anything,
To cut yourself to fit,
It may be a little different from true kindness.
In kindness,
I have a heart to think of others.
And at the same time,
There are boundaries to protect yourself.

私自身も優しい性格で、相手のことを優先しすぎて疲れてしまった経験があります。特に嫌われたくない、傷つけたくないという気持ちから「何でも許してしまう」ことが繰り返されると、後から自分の心に負担がかかることに気づきました。そこで意識的に「自分を守る境界線」を設けることにしました。例えば、無理なお願いははっきり断る、そして相手の成長を信じてすぐに手助けしすぎないようにするなどです。 このように境界線を意識した優しさは、ただ甘やかすだけの態度とは明確に違います。甘さはその場では楽かもしれませんが、後に疲労感や後悔が残ることが多いです。私の場合、甘さに任せて相手を甘やかすと、問題が解決せずにそれが自分へのストレスになる悪循環に陥りました。 一方で、本当の優しさは「相手のためになる厳しさも含む」ことを学びました。例えば、良かれと思って手出ししすぎるのではなく、時には距離を取って見守ること。相手の自立や成長を信じることで、双方にとって健全な関係が築けます。 心がふっと軽くなるためには、この優しさと甘さの違いを理解し、実生活に活かすことが重要です。皆さんもぜひ「優しさは自分も守ること」を心に留めて、自分らしい人間関係のあり方を見つけてみてください。
