Only fruit for lunch

My daughter tends to be a picky eater so having a schedule of when we eat certain foods and when we try new foods has helped us allot. We tend to have a more protein based dinner so try to balance that out with a lunch made up with more fruits and veggies. Today my daughter had a large dollop of Greek yogurt with: 2 cut strawberries, 1 cut up banana, half a handful of halved blueberries, and half a handful of raspberries. My daughter seemed a bit hungry afterwards so I cooked her up a hot dog😜

Fruits are packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that are essential for a child's growth and development. Consider varying the types of fruits to maintain interest and encourage a balanced diet. For instance, you could try adding fruits like peaches, apples, or kiwi to keep the menu exciting. Pairing fruits with a source of protein, such as Greek yogurt or cottage cheese, not only enhances flavor but also supports fullness and sustained energy. Serving fruit in fun, engaging ways—like fruit skewers or creative presentations—can also entice a child to try new things. Additionally, involving kids in meal prep can increase their willingness to experiment with new foods. By making lunchtime enjoyable and nutritious, you set the stage for lifelong healthy eating habits.
