At home lash extensions✨
Hey lash lovers! If you've been attempting to do an at home lash extension recently, or just dreaming about those gorgeous, fluffy lashes without the salon price tag, you've come to the right place! I know how daunting it can seem to try this yourself, but trust me, with the right steps and products, you can totally achieve a stunning look at home. I’m here to share my simple, step-by-step guide to DIY lash extensions that has saved me so much time and money. What You'll Need: First things first, gather your supplies. This is what I typically use: Cluster Lashes or Individual Lash Segments: Choose your preferred style (natural, dramatic, wispy). Lash Bond/Adhesive: A good quality, long-lasting one is key. Lash Sealer: To lock everything in place and extend wear. Lash Applicator/Tweezers: For precise placement. Micro Swabs or Cotton Buds: For cleaning and corrections. Lash Remover: Essential for safe removal without damaging your natural lashes. Small Mirror: A magnifying mirror can be very helpful! Step-by-Step Application Guide: Prep Your Lashes: Start with clean, dry lashes. Make sure there’s no makeup, oil, or residue. I like to use a gentle, oil-free cleanser. This step is crucial for good adhesion! Map Your Look (Lash Mapping): Decide where you want your lash segments to go. For a natural look, I usually use shorter lengths on the inner corner, gradually increasing to longer lengths on the outer corner. You can even draw a light guide on your eyelid if you're a beginner. This planning really helps! Apply the Bond: This is where technique comes in. Instead of applying the bond directly to your eyelid or the entire lash line, I apply a thin coat to the base of my natural lashes, focusing on the underside. Work in small sections, one eye at a time. A little goes a long way! Pick Up a Lash Segment: Gently pick up a cluster lash or segment with your applicator or tweezers. Hold it by the base. Place the Lash: Carefully place the lash segment underneath your natural lashes, slightly away from your waterline. Press it gently against your natural lashes. I always start from the outer corner and work my way inwards, overlapping slightly for a seamless look. Don't touch your skin with the bond! Secure and Seal: Once all segments are applied, gently press them together with your natural lashes using the applicator. Then, apply a thin coat of lash sealer to the underside of the lashes. This helps neutralize any stickiness from the bond and extends the life of your extensions. Let it dry completely. Tips for Longevity & Care: Avoid Water for 24 Hours: Let the bond cure completely. Be Gentle: Avoid rubbing your eyes, and sleep on your back if possible. Brush Daily: Use a clean spoolie to brush them gently and keep them neat. Avoid Oil-Based Products: Oils can break down the lash bond. Proper Removal: When it’s time, use a dedicated lash remover. Apply it to a cotton pad, hold it over your closed eye for a minute, and gently wipe away. It might take a couple of attempts to get it perfectly, but don't get discouraged! My first try wasn't salon-perfect, but I learned so much. Now, I can confidently do my own at home lash extensions and love the results. Give it a go – you might just surprise yourself!
