Hey fellow collectors! I know the struggle of trying to make your beloved manga and anime figure collection look amazing without breaking the bank or creating total chaos. For ages, my collection was scattered, but I finally decided to give my bedroom the ultimate anime aesthetic makeover. It’s been such a game-changer for my space, and I’m so excited to share how I did it! First things first, shelving solutions are crucial. Like many of you, I swear by the IKEA Billy bookcase. They’re incredibly versatile, affordable, and you can add height extensions to maximize vertical space, which is a lifesaver when your collection grows. I've seen some amazing setups using multiple Billy units side-by-side, creating a dedicated manga wall. For my anime figures and Funko Pops, I found that the adjustable shelves are perfect for accommodating different heights. You can also find great alternatives on Amazon, like white cube storage units or even small desktop shelves, which are perfect for smaller collections or specific display zones. Beyond the classic bookcases, don't overlook other clever storage options. I’ve incorporated a white rolling utility cart from Amazon to hold some of my overflow manga and art books, plus it’s handy for displaying a small plant or two. And for those smaller, precious items or even a rotating display of my favorite figures, a white pegboard system (also found on Amazon or Ikea) has been fantastic. You can customize it with shelves and hooks to really show off your unique collectibles. Once you have your shelves, it’s all about the organization and aesthetic. For manga, I love arranging mine by series, but sometimes I’ll do a color-coded section for a real visual pop. When it comes to anime figures, try grouping them by series or theme. Clear acrylic risers are your best friend for creating depth and ensuring every figure, especially your Funko Pops, can be seen. Don't forget to add personal touches! I’ve decorated my space with various posters—everything from Spider-Man to Moon Knight—many of which I sourced from places like 5 Below and Amazon, just like the ones you might see in my room photos. These really tie the whole bedroom aesthetic together and make the space feel uniquely 'me.' Lastly, maintaining that pristine anime collection shelf is key. Regular dusting is a must to keep your figures and manga looking their best. Every now and then, I like to rotate my displays, bringing out different figures or rearranging my manga to keep things fresh and exciting. It's a journey, not a destination, so have fun with it! What are your favorite shelving hacks for your anime and manga collections?
