Eric Barone, or ConcernedApe, the creator of Stardew Valley, has clearly confirmed that he will "never use Generative AI to make games," whether it is visual work, speech, characters or any creative content.

He said in an interview with Game Informer that the purpose of making games for him is to convey ideas, feelings and identities through art, so letting AI create instead is directly against what he believes.

"My goal is to express myself through video games, so why should I have AI to replace me?"

He also spoke about the value of humans, and if they need help, they should allow "real humans" to use their abilities rather than their machines.
