WARDOGS previously just announced 2 million copies sold on September 15; or less than 5 days after the Early Access opening, before moving past the main 3 million copies in no time.

The game itself is a large combat-oriented Multiplayer FPS, supporting 100-player combat and mixing concepts from Military Simulation with Battlefield-style speed. Players can choose roles based on their own play, not locked with a traditional class system.

The game's success is also reflected by the number of simultaneous players on Steam that used to hit 428,666 during its launch, which is a very high figure for new games still in Early Access.

However, WARDOGS is still in Early Access, and the development team has confirmed it will move forward to revamp the game, with Season 02 scheduled to open October 15, 2026, which will see more new details and content following.
