STOP DOING HOMEWORK

DISCLAIMER: This is what works for me! If you do things differently that’s fine.

I’m a college student and I make the Dean’s List at my university every semester. I don’t do homework.

Look… school is hard. If you try to be perfect and obsess over crossing every T and dotting every I, you’re only going to end up burnt out.

SCHOOL IS SCHOOL. HOME IS HOME.

When I decided to prioritize my own happiness and mental wellbeing I began to thrive academically.

Here’s how I did it

🌸 If you’re assigned work for after school hours, try to get it done BEFORE you get home.

🌸 Don’t do work in bed or in the same place you associate with rest/relaxation.

🌸 Start with the assignments that have the closest due date, work until you’re satisfied with what you’ve done.

🌸 If you feel exhausted or overwhelmed then stop. Pick it back up in half an hour, but give yourself time to think and process the work you’re doing.

🌸 Work outside or by a window.

🌸When it’s time to rest, REST. Your assignments can wait until the next day, I promise.

🌸When it’s time to work, WORK HARD. You should want to turn in quality work.

🌸 Find a hobby. Having an outlet that stimulates your mind when you’re not working can be so beneficial. Sometimes, relaxing and laying in bed can lead to stress about all the work you “could be doing”, so relax and let your mind drift while focusing on a hobby that you enjoy:)
