GP p1

Heres a little rant on what i did during and after the exam. Cos we were all panicking before taking our first written exam

Nearly forgot that before the exam got one woman she erm was dragged in by her friends as she crumpled on the ground before entering the exam hall. Goated friends 🧡

DURING

I was told that 20s into the paper, i took of my specs and facepalm🤡🤡🤡

Recollecting thoughts and COS I WAS kinda SAD that whatever i revised didnt really come out🥹

My question 8 analysis if your curious

Q) To what extent do you agree that enough is done in your society to encourage a healthy lifestyle?

Position: Not doing enough to enourage a healthy lifestyle

CA1: Doing enough, raising awareness

- Nutri grade label

- Healthier choice label

- Fitness corners near HDBs

R1: Not doing enough, raising awareness does not tackle the root cause of not achieving a healthy lifestyle

- Nutri grade & Healthier choice can ignore

- Fitness corners does not hv high intensity workouts that is needed

- Gig economy, Grab, convenient food from the comfort of our homes

A1: Not doing enough, monetary costs to lead a healthy lifestyle

- Covid-19, circuit breaker, firms and schools encourage exercise from home, but need adequate space to do so

- Public swimming pools, $1 entrance fee, if weekly for 1 year is almost $50, impossible for lower SES

- Fast food chains, cheaper also and convenient

A2: Not doing enough, available but initiatives are inaccessible (omg i spelled barieer wrong)

1. Language barrier, most initiatives in English

2. Require adequate tech skills to fully utilise

3. Usually for those fully abled (idk what happened here?)

- Healthy 365, navigate latest and nearest communities exercise Kpop dance/yoga

- (forgot my other eg)

Funny thing is, after the paper when getting my bags and all. Noticed this shiny thing near my bag🌟, so being an A level student can earn money one🤣🤣🤣

One major barrier is accessibility. For example, even if fitness corners or community exercise programs are available, not everyone can participate fully. Language barriers, tech skills required to register or track progress, and physical ability limitations can easily exclude a large portion of the population from benefiting. Cost is another challenge. Public swimming pools and exercise facilities might appear affordable at a glance, but if used regularly, the fees add up significantly — making it hard for lower-income groups to maintain a consistent healthy routine. Convenience also plays a huge role. The gig economy and delivery services enable access to cheap, convenient food options that compete heavily with healthier but less accessible alternatives. Combined with limited space at home for exercise, motivating oneself to keep fit becomes even tougher. From my own experience during the exam situation, despite preparing extensively, I felt disappointed when the questions didn't align with my revision, showing that mental stress impacts how we implement healthy choices too. Overall, it’s clear that while initiatives exist, more tailored efforts addressing the root causes and everyday realities of different social groups are needed to truly encourage and support healthy lifestyles in our society.
