Opening a coffee shop in the neighborhood where I grew up has been a dream come true, especially while balancing a career as a full-time law enforcement officer here in Miami. The Matcha Edit is not just another coffee spot; it’s a community hub designed to bring energy and comfort to locals and visitors alike. Located inside the Roots Bookstore and Market at 6610 NW 15 Avenue, Miami, FL 33147, The Matcha Edit offers a welcoming atmosphere with specialty matcha drinks and carefully curated coffee selections. Opening hours from Tuesday to Saturday, 8 am to 4 pm, make it an ideal stop whether you’re starting your day or looking for an afternoon pick-me-up. One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been connecting with community members who share a love for great coffee and meaningful conversations. Having worked in law enforcement, I’ve experienced firsthand how important it is to create positive spaces where people can gather safely and comfortably. If you’re like me and appreciate high-quality, energizing beverages, I encourage you to try our matcha-based drinks – they’re a refreshing alternative to traditional coffee and offer a natural energy boost. The vibe inside Roots Bookstore adds a unique charm and fosters a sense of community, making every visit more than just about coffee. Starting this venture has also reinforced the value of pursuing your passions alongside a demanding career. It’s been a balancing act but incredibly fulfilling to give back to the neighborhood that shaped me while providing a friendly spot for everyone in Miami to unwind and recharge.
