#blackfridaydeals #lemon8challenge #travelwithme2024 #trip
Various Barnes & Noble stores will be holding a LEGO make and take building event for a Mini Train Snow Globe.
The event is held between November 8-10 at random times. You should check with your local store to see what time that store is holding theirs.
You might have to pre-register or get tickets in store, where they are on a first come, first serve basis so get there early if you want to attend. Alternatively, you might get lucky by walking in and they have extras to give away@
I'm still buzzing with excitement about the FREE LEGO Mini Train Snow Globe event at Barnes & Noble! What a fantastic opportunity to get creative and bring home a unique, festive decoration. Getting to build your very own miniature snowglobe train is just so cool, especially when it’s made of LEGOs! It's the perfect way to add a bit of whimsical charm to your desk or shelf, and it makes for a super thoughtful, handmade gift too. But what if you can't make it to the event, or like me, you just can't get enough of these adorable miniature snowglobe trains? Don't worry, you can totally recreate that magic right at home! Making your own miniature snow globe is a surprisingly simple and fun DIY project that’s perfect for a cozy afternoon. All you need are a few supplies, and you'll have your own enchanting little world in a jar. Here’s how you can make your own DIY miniature snowglobe train: What You'll Need: A small, clean glass jar with a tight-fitting lid: Mason jars, baby food jars, or even spice jars work great. A miniature train figure: This could be a tiny toy train, a small LEGO train you already have, or even a picture laminated and cut out. Make sure it fits easily inside your jar and looks good from all angles. Distilled water: This prevents cloudiness and keeps your snow globe clear. Glycerin (or clear corn syrup): This is the secret ingredient! It helps the glitter and 'snow' fall slowly and gracefully. Glitter or artificial snow: Choose fine glitter in silver, white, or iridescent colors for a classic snow effect. You can also use tiny sequins or microbeads. Strong, waterproof adhesive: E6000 or marine epoxy works best to secure your train without it coming loose in the water. Step-by-Step Instructions: Prepare your train: Make sure your miniature train is clean and completely dry. If it's a LEGO creation, ensure all pieces are firmly attached. Attach the train to the lid: Apply a generous amount of your waterproof adhesive to the inside center of the jar's lid. Carefully press your miniature train onto the glue, holding it firmly for a few seconds. Let it dry completely for several hours, or even overnight, to ensure it's rock solid. You don't want your train floating around! Fill the jar: Pour distilled water into the jar, almost to the very top, leaving about half an inch of space from the rim. Add glycerin: Add 1-2 teaspoons of glycerin to the water. The more glycerin you add, the slower the 'snow' will fall. Experiment to find your perfect speed! Sprinkle in the 'snow': Add about 1-2 teaspoons of glitter or artificial snow to the water. You can mix colors for a unique look. Give it a gentle stir with a stick or spoon. Seal it up: Carefully place the lid, with the attached train facing down, into the jar. Screw the lid on as tightly as you can. You might even want to apply a bead of waterproof glue around the rim of the lid before screwing it on for an extra-secure, leak-proof seal. Test and enjoy! Turn your snow globe upside down and watch the beautiful snow fall around your miniature train. If the snow falls too fast, you can add a bit more glycerin (after carefully reopening and resealing). If it's too slow, add a bit more water. I just love how these little wonders bring a touch of magic to any space. Whether it's a festive holiday decoration or a year-round reminder of cozy charm, a miniature snowglobe train is sure to spark joy. Happy crafting, and I hope you get to enjoy the Barnes & Noble event or create your own snowy masterpiece at home!
