Craving sushi but on a tight budget or deal with rolling? I totally get it!
So, whenever I want Sushi, I make a Sushi Stack at home. It's easy to make.
Ingredients:
- Sushi White Rice
- Soy Sauce
- Rice Vinegar
- Can of Tuna (you can use fresh)
- Cream Cheese (for a rich and creamy texture)
- Cucumber (for that crunchy and fresh bite)
- Spices: Black Pepper, Salt, Everything Bagel Seasoning
- Sriracha Mayo (for a little spice)
- Japanese Mayo (or regular mayo, Japanese can be extra creamy)
How to Make It:
- Prepare the Tuna:
Open the can of tuna and mix it with some black pepper and salt. Keep it simple!
- Make the Cucumber Mix:
Dice the cucumber and mix it with cream cheese, black pepper, and salt. This gives it a nice, creamy crunch.
- Season the Rice:
Cook your sushi rice and mix it with soy sauce and rice vinegar. This is what makes the rice taste like sushi!
Stack It Up:
Use a round cookie cutter (or any mold) that is wide and tall to make neat layers. Here’s how to do it:
- Start with a layer of rice at the bottom.
- Then, add a layer of tuna on top.
- Next, put the cucumber-cream cheese mixture on top of the tuna.
- Finally, sprinkle everything bagel seasoning over it.
I drizzled the plate with Sriracha Mayo, then I did the sushi stack.
- You can swap tuna with shrimp or salmon
- You can swap cream cheese with avocado
This Sushi Stack is my go-to for a quick sushi at home—and trust me, it’s way easier than rolling sushi (still working on that one! 😅)
