If you're planning a purple-themed party, I highly recommend Kalye Broome , a delightful Filipino restaurant in the Lower East Side of Manhattan.

The entire menu follows the purple theme, with vibrant purple appetizers, mains, and desserts that will surely add a fun twist to your dining experience.

I tried the Ube Bun Beef Sliders. They’re almost like cute, mini Crabby Patties straight out of SpongeBob SquarePants that adds fun and unique takes on a classic Sliders .

The Ube (Purple Yam) buns are soft, fluffy, and visually striking. The balance of flavors between the beef, fresh lettuce, tomato, and aioli works well, providing a satisfying bite. While they’re not greasy, which is a big plus, the 2 small size may leave you wanting more if you're particularly hungry.

Next, I had Ube Pao (Purple Yam Steamed Buns) as dessert. The Ube and coconut are a perfect match. The smooth, slightly sweet ube pairs beautifully with the crunchy coconut flakes. The coconut syrup adds just a touch of sweetness, bringing it all together for a delicious and balanced flavor that feels fresh.

The restaurant is small and cozy, so I highly recommend making a reservation, as it gets packed quickly. However, you can order to go and enjoy your meal outside with a stunning view of the East River.

Overall, the food at Kalye Broome is light and fresh, with a healthy twist. While it may be on the pricier side, the unique flavors and experience make it well worth the visit 🥰
