Had the opportunity to moderate the dialogue between MP Wan Rizal Bin Wan Zakariah with Ag
MMA Assoc Prof Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim & SUARA at NTUC on the topic of Islamic Leadership.
A lot of key pointers were said and my greatest insight would the the principles of passion and patient.
These 2 principles are important for a Muslim Leader to enact their task and responsibilities at hand.

Moderating a dialogue on Islamic leadership at NTUC provided me with a unique perspective on the qualities essential for effective leadership in a Muslim context. Passion and patience emerged as the two pillars that leaders must embody to fulfill their responsibilities successfully. Passion fuels a leader’s drive and commitment to their cause, inspiring others and maintaining momentum through challenges. Patience, on the other hand, is crucial for enduring setbacks, listening deeply to different viewpoints, and making thoughtful decisions. During the discussion, it was clear that these principles are not only spiritual virtues but practical tools that guide leaders through complex situations. In my experience with student advisory roles, I've seen how leaders who practice patience foster better relationships and create more inclusive environments. Likewise, passion in leadership encourages innovation and resilience. Visiting the NTUC gallery, where the dialogue took place, reinforced these insights. The exhibits highlighting the labor movement's achievements echo the importance of steadfast leadership guided by strong principles. The challenge for any aspiring leader, especially youths, is balancing these qualities while staying grounded in ethical values. For students and young leaders engaged in dialogue or group moderation, focusing on passion and patience can transform challenges into growth opportunities. Reflecting on these values helps create a leadership style that is compassionate and effective, capable of making a lasting positive impact within their communities.
