What my Italian man told me in Italian…

Honestly, this is the first time I’ve experienced “Healthy” love. And idk how to feel or go about it lol. I’ve been in situationships that I THOUGHT were love but unfortunately yet fortunately they were everything but that. I’m being listened to, shown empathy and sympathy, given a shoulder to cry on, having my feeling validated, I’m not materialistic but this is really the first time a guy has BOUGHT ME STUFF! I’m usually the one always buying 😭

I’m happy about this journey but also scared lol he’s “in love with me” as he says and I believe him, but I’m not there yet and that’s okay. I’m learning I don’t have to match each step that someone else is taking exactly. I’m learning. This is beautiful and I’m glad to be in this RELATIONSHIP and not another situationship.

I’m learning I deserve it. I deserve to be loved correctly. #scared to love someone new #vulnerablelove #fallinginlovewithmyself #Lemon8Diary #letschat

... Read moreHealthy love can often feel foreign, especially if we've been accustomed to toxic dynamics or situationships. For many, understanding what constitutes a healthy relationship takes time and self-reflection. This process involves not only recognizing red flags from past experiences, but also embracing vulnerability. In a supportive relationship, partners listen to one another, express empathy, and lift each other up. It's important to remember that love should feel safe and positive. The idea of someone giving you their time, attention, and thoughtful gestures symbolizes admiration and respect. This creates a foundation where both individuals can thrive emotionally. Building a strong relationship also requires patience and careful navigation. Just because one partner feels ready, doesn't mean the other has to rush into the same feelings. Every journey toward love is unique, and it’s about growing together while embracing differences. Additionally, it’s essential to foster love for oneself alongside romantic interests. Engaging in self-love empowers you to appreciate your worth and set healthy boundaries, resulting in a more fulfilling partnership. Engaging in activities that cultivate happiness and self-love can provide clarity and personal growth. As relationships evolve, open communication is vital. Sharing feelings without fear of judgment allows partners to develop deeper connections and mutual understanding. Remember, it’s okay to take your time to get comfortable with the idea of love. By recognizing and cherishing these moments, you pave the way for a more profound relationship with yourself and your partner.
