Oh my gosh, you guys! Cosplaying Blitzø from Helluva Boss has been an absolute dream come true, and bringing him to Katsucon was an unforgettable experience. There’s just something about Blitzø’s chaotic energy, his witty one-liners, and his surprisingly complex character that made me fall in love with him. He’s not your typical demon, and that’s what makes him so compelling to portray! When I first decided to tackle this cosplay, I knew it would be a challenge, especially getting his signature imp look just right. The makeup alone took hours of practice! From perfecting the sharp angles of his face to getting those distinct red markings and the expressive eyes, every detail was crucial. I spent so much time researching different techniques and products to make sure it looked authentic. And those horns! Finding the right material and making them lightweight yet durable for a full day at the con was a mission. The suit itself was another adventure. Blitzø’s outfit, while seemingly simple, has so many small elements that define his style. I really focused on tailoring the coat to have that sharp, almost military-like silhouette while still allowing for plenty of movement – essential for striking those dynamic poses! And of course, no Blitzø cosplay is complete without his trusty flintlock pistol, which I painstakingly crafted to look as screen-accurate as possible. Walking around Katsucon as Blitzø was just incredible. The reactions from fellow Helluva Boss fans were priceless! It’s such a joy to connect with people who share the same passion for a show, and getting recognized for the hard work put into the costume is truly rewarding. We had so many fun interactions, and it really felt like I was bringing a piece of the I.M.P. office to life. If you're thinking about cosplaying a character from Helluva Boss, I say go for it! It’s incredibly fun and a fantastic way to immerse yourself in the fandom. My biggest tip? Start early on your props and makeup practice. It makes a huge difference! For anyone unfamiliar with Helluva Boss, it's an adult animated web series created by Vivienne Medrano (Vivziepop) that follows the misadventures of I.M.P (Immediate Murder Professionals), a startup assassination company in Hell run by Blitzo (the 'o' is silent!). It's known for its dark humor, vibrant animation, and surprisingly deep character development. Blitzø himself is the boss, a flamboyant, often incompetent, but fiercely loyal imp who struggles with various personal and professional challenges. He's a character you can't help but root for, even with all his flaws. It’s part of what makes him such a blast to cosplay – you get to embody all that chaotic energy!
