How i lost 30 pounds... realistically

DISCLAIMER: THIS IS JUST WHAT WORKED FOR ME, I AM NOT A PROFESSIONAL:)))))

I started my fitness journey August 4th 2024 and this is me now.

I still ate what i wanted but just in moderation.

I have tried so many different ways to lose weight and these are the ones i was able to be consistent with!

1.💋

Calorie deficit 100000%

if ur not doing that then there is no point of doing whatever else your doing:)

2.💛

Cut down on drive thru meals!

and instead of getting those delicious coffees i would get refreshers instead! Dont get me wrong, i would still get me a latte every now and then!

3.💕

I hated going to the gym because of insecurities so i would walk 1 to 2 miles a day after dinner and got 8k to 10k+ steps a day!

4.💗

I drank a lot more water and it def made a difference but at least once or twice a day i would get a coke zero from McDonald's! 🤭🤭

which is way better then all those dr.peppers i used to drink🫣

5.💖

I also started going to workout classes that were offered at my gym. i felt more accountable then just going to the gym!

once i lost my first 15 pounds i felt more confident cause i started seeing results so then i started weightlifting cause i hate cardio machines!!

this helped me alot!

6.❤️

another method that i have tried was fasting, that really helped me as well, you can do whatever times you want but i ate between 2pm and 6pm cause that was tbe most convenient time for me at a college student.

But calorie deficit gave me the BIGGEST result in my weightlost journey!

I still ate my hot cheetos, candies, chips, sodas, and ate out! I messed up a lot and thats why it did take me over a year to lose that but atleast i made it this far! If i can do it so can you!!!!

... Read moreLosing weight can often feel overwhelming, especially when faced with countless diets and exercise fads. From personal experience, one of the most important lessons is that sustainable weight loss is about building habits you can maintain long-term — not quick fixes. A key factor that dramatically helped me was embracing a calorie deficit without totally giving up the foods I love. Instead of trying to be perfect, I practiced moderation. For example, I allowed myself treats like hot cheetos, candies, and sodas occasionally but balanced those indulgences by cutting back on high-calorie drive-thru meals and sugary coffees, often opting for lower-calorie refreshments. This approach prevented feelings of deprivation and made sticking to the plan easier. Another crucial part was increasing my daily activity through walking. Since gyms can sometimes be intimidating, especially due to insecurities, I found walking 1 to 2 miles after dinner and gradually accumulating 8,000 to 10,000 steps a day to be a realistic and enjoyable way to burn calories and improve my fitness. Later, attending workout classes offered by my gym added social support and accountability, making workouts more engaging and effective. Hydration played a surprisingly big role too. Drinking more water not only helped with feeling fuller but also improved my energy levels. And while I didn’t eliminate all zero-calorie sodas like Coke Zero from McDonald's, cutting out high-sugar drinks such as Dr. Pepper reduced unnecessary calories. Intermittent fasting was another method I experimented with, tailoring eating windows to my lifestyle—in my case, between 2 pm and 6 pm as a college student. This flexibility allowed me to manage hunger and calorie intake without disrupting my routine. What stood out the most was the mindset shift: knowing that mistakes and occasional slip-ups are part of the journey helped keep me motivated. Losing 30 pounds took over a year, but patience and consistency made the difference. If you're on a similar path, focus on gradual changes that fit your life, track your progress, and don’t be too hard on yourself. The results will come with persistence!
